Summer Programs Start June 28!

Celebrate our kickoff to summer in style with zillions of bubbles! Join us on Thursday, June 28 at 10:30 AM for our fun Annual Bubble Blast Summer Reading Kickoff Party!

The fun isn’t limited to kids! This summer, every time that you visit the Lawrence Library, you will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a prize!

Visitors to the children’s room will get to make a necklace this summer, by choosing a new bead to add to their necklace each time they visit. The children’s department has planned activities for kids of all ages with something new each day!

On Wednesday, July 11 at 6 PM, we will be having a family book club for the elementary age group. Make sure you register online to pick up a free copy of Race the Wild by Kristin Earhart and illustrator Eda Kaban. Join us for pizza and a discussion in the library’s meeting room on the lower level.

We will also be offering evening family storytimes on Wednesday, July 25 and August 15 at 6 PM on both nights.

Don’t forget summer reading! This year’s theme is Libraries Rock! and we’ll be celebrating with:

Speaking of rocking, did you know that in addition to being able to borrow DVDs and CDs from the library, you can access many concerts online via Qello?  All you need is your library card!

The Lawrence Library has something for everyone this summer! The children’s room will offer engineering challenges (grades 2-8), sand art (for the whole family!), LEGO fun, various crafts, chess (grades K-8), and ICE CREAM.  Teens can join us for  pizza and movie nights as well as a Shibori dyeing workshop, which is being held on August 9.

Check out our event calendar for details, dates and times. You can also subscribe to this blog for frequent updates on events.

See you at the library this summer for a rocking good time!
