Research Your Roots From Home

Now through April 30, you can access Ancestry Library Edition from the comfort (and safety!) of your home. Ancestry Library Edition is powered by Ancestry.com, one of the world’s most popular genealogy resources. You’ll need to have your library card number and PIN handy to sign in. The link for Ancestry Library Edition can be found on our Online 24/7 page or through this link.

In addition to Ancestry Library Edition, we also offer the U.S. Northeast Historical Newspaper Collection. When you open the U.S. Northeast Historical Newspaper Collection, you’ll be asked to enter your library barcode. For Massachusetts public records, criminal and court records, you can search for free via Online Searches. Both databases can be found on our Online 24/7 page.

If you’re looking to connect with members of the family history community, non-profit FamilySearch is hosting a live social media series on both Instagram and Facebook. Their Instagram Live events will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 PM and their Facebook Live events will occur on Wednesdays at 6 PM. You can create a free account to use the FamilySearch website.

As always, if you have any questions or need help, just email dspratt@cwmars.org or tmceveoy@cwmars.org and we’ll help you out! Don’t forget that the library’s free WiFi can be accessed in the library parking lot.
